How the Dating Industry Will Evolve in 2019?

The dating industry, in general, is a multibillion-dollar industry which has been growing in leaps and bounds since the advent of the internet itself. Why, in the past decade with the emergence of the social media pages and dating applications, life and relationships have never been the same again. It is stated that by 2020, the margin itself will be increased by a quarter.

Dating and relationships have always evolved concurrently with the development of mankind, change in lifestyle and technology as well. Gone are the days where men and women would bide their time till their folks found them a suitable spouse or fall in love with the nearest friendly face in school or college and commit.

But what exactly is sparking this keen interest and the growth spurt for the industry itself? The answer is spelled due to the popularity of online dating in the ages of 18 to 25 year olds, the inspired youth which is the largest populous in all the demography. The other factors would include their independence from social and economic norms of the previous generations, the ability to be self-employed with the powers of the online and digital marketing or e-commerce, the greater spending power of the millennials et cetera.

Online dating is not limited to mail order brides anymore. In fact, that was decades ago. Social media platforms and pages allowed men and women from different backgrounds, ethnicity, neighborhoods, class, strata, college, states and countries even to interact and get to know each other. Slowly and steadily, all the prejudices and preconceived notions disappeared and cultural differences faded to what we now perceive as the exotic. Over the years the world has become smaller as more and more people found their spouses in a faraway country. The social pages give way to applications as tinder, ok-cupid, match, badoo and others of it's like as the phones got smarter and internet savvy.

And thus, the hookup culture is becoming more and more prominent where newer tools and applications are emerging that encourage fling dating. Why not be honest? Not everyone is looking for a long term or a serious relationship. The youth desires and explores. All marriages are not successful and it is an innate human tendency to explore and challenge ourselves by find what is new and exciting. How bad could this be considering that everyone participating is upfront and honest? Not to mention society being more accepting and privileged to keep with the ever-changing values, which explains the popularity of the latest niche adult dating.

Regardless, Jim Morrison’s words were indeed prophetic – “We want the world, and we want it now!”
